OCTOBER GOALS
“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”
We are truly into autumn now! I’m taking a moment to share my October goals with you.
October Goals and Intentions
I’m a summer gal through and through, but autumn still conjures up rose-tinted images of crispy leaves, pumpkin spice lattes and oversized jumpers. I’m often mocked for this overly romanticised vision of the drizzly season (I mean, I don’t even drink coffee…) but autumn still has a place in my heart.
My overarching theme for October is cosy. I feel like I’m creating a safe and cosy den that will carry me through to the warmer seasons. I’m creating this in my home and studio, and also in my mind and body. Below are some of the ways I’m doing this!

1. Let Go and Restore
You all know I love my dynamic vinyasa flow practices, but now I’m getting serious about restorative yoga too. Personally, Yin yoga has never felt like the best complement to Vinyasa for me, but Restorative practices are really helping me to wind down and relax.
I’m regularly turning to this slower style of yoga already and I’ll be favouring it more and more this month as the days shorten and the central heating gets cranked up.
I’ll share more about restorative yoga here on the blog this month, so stay tuned for more information!
2. Reinvoke My Word Nerd Status
I don’t think I read any books in September. The horror! I love reading, writing, journaling, and blogging – anything wordy has me captivated. I’m one of those weirdos who reads the video transcript rather than watch the actual video. And I can’t write a short Instagram caption without feeling like I betrayed myself.
I cannot wait to get back to reading and journaling every day in October. New blog posts will be written in every spare moment too woohoo!
3. Cosify The Studio
I’ve always kept a spacious, airy theme at The Yoga Transformative studio at Rutland Square, Edinburgh. Minimalism is definitely key to maintain a sense of spaciousness, but I didn’t want the studio to feel empty.
It’s taken me a few months to work out the right way to do this, but I’ve figured it out! I’m bringing in some prints, greenery and textiles and it’s going to get cosy.
My main studio, Evolve, is now home to the most comfortable sofa of all time, and shelving, plants and prints are all on order. Combine that with some products from my friend’s new incredible candle company, Davidson Decor and nobody will want to leave!
PS/ I have now made my booking schedule public – and I have a few spaces open for new clients! You can now find out more information and book yourself in by following the links below. Don’t say I don’t spoil you!
What are your goals for October? Do you want to slow down too, or are you hoping to speed up for the remainder of 2020? Let me know in the comments below!
